Lake Pichola

Just about everybody knows about the gorgeous Lake Pichola; it�s like another vital identity of Udaipur. It is a 4kms long man-made lake and is believed to be one of the most beautiful ones as well. Visitors to Udaipur cannot miss out on taking a boat ride on Lake Pichola which starts from Rameshwar Ghat in the City Palace. The lake has two famed islands namely Jagniwas and Jagmandir.

Lake Palace Udaipur

Marvelously built on Lake Pichola, Lake Palace is one of the most visited places in Udaipur. Situated on Jagniwas Island it is now run by the Taj group and is popularly known as Taj Lake Palace. With the Aravalli Hills in the background, Lake Palace makes one of the most romantic places in Rajasthan. Even if one cannot afford to stay here, one should definitely consider taking a heritage walk of this hotel.

Jag Mandir Udaipur

Jag Mandir is an excellent place to visit on Udaipur tour. Jagmandir is an impressive set of structures with the central building being called Jagmandir, which can be recognized by the marble-made elephants positioned outside. It is a three-storied structure and includes sections like Gul Mahal, an elegant fa�ade, a Garden Courtyard and the Darikhana on its northern side, the Bara Patharon ka Mahal.

Lake Fatehsagar

Saheliyon-ki-Bari (Courtyard of the Maidens) was built by Maharana Bhopal Singh and is a major garden and a popular tourist space in Udaipur, with fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool, marble elephants, and also a small museum. Built by Maharana Bhopal Singh. Saheliyon ki Bari means Garden of the Maids. This garden area lies in northern part of the city and has fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool and marble elephants.

Dudh Talai

A small lake surrounded with beautiful, structured and precisely manicured garden with fountains and beautiful rocks. A rock and fountain garden and the sunset point from which one can enjoy the sunset view in Lake Pichhola and a panoramic view of the old city. Also one can enjoy the Aerial tramway (rope way) which connects one of the dudh talai gardens to Karni Mata temple.

Bagore Ki Haveli

An old building built right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. The palace has over a hundred rooms, with displays of costumes and modern art. The building has a large and exquisite collection of Mewar painting and glassworks. In the evening, the haveli lightens and stages enjoyable performance of traditional dance and music of Rajasthan. These performances are most sought among the foreigners, and you can find a large gathering in the evening.

Monsoon Palace (Sajjan Garh)

This palace is unique for the purpose for which it was constructed. The palace was built by Sajjan Singh to keep a watch over the monsoon clouds in the surrounding region. Later it was used as a hunting retreat for the royal family. Initially the king had intended to establish a nine storied astronomical center at this spot but his sudden demise shattered his plans.
